As part of our PSHE topic Keeping Safe, Reception have been learning about Police and how they keep us safe. PCSO Dave came into class to visit us and talk about how we can stay safe. He discussed crossing the road safely, how important it is to listen to adults and stay with them when we are out and walking to school. Dave showed us his equipment and told us all about what he does in his day to day job. We have had Police outfits out in the classroom and have been role playing being Police and other professionals who help us.
During Anti-Bullying week we learnt about how important it is to be kind to our friends. We wore odd socks to celebrate that everyone is unique and different and this is what makes us so special. We recapped the classroom rules and made up a poem as a class to remind us how we can be a good friend.
PSHE in EYFS is a huge part of our curriculum and is the most important part of our development. We have PSHE lessons weekly where we develop our skills and awareness of managing our feelings, self - regulating and building relationships. We learn through play and develop each of these skills while working along side our peers. We have worked hard to learn what the classroom rules are and try to follow these each day.
