At Flanshaw Junior, Infanct and Nursery School Attendance Matters.  

Whilst some absences are inevitable, the school is committed to reducing absence down to the lowest possible levels. This can be achieved by a balance of rewarding attendance and supporting families where absence or punctuality is problematic.

However, the school will work closely with the Education Welfare Service to sanction families where support measures have failed to make significant improvements.

We ask that parents and carers work with us to ensure that children attend school regularly and punctually.

Absence procedure 

If your child is absent from school, please ring the school office on 01924 290360 or email at reception@flanshawjin.co.uk 

Please provide your child's name, class and reason for absence. If this is not provided you will be marked as unauthorised. 

Lateness 

School Opens at 8:45am. Children arriving after this time must enter through the main office and will be recorded as late on the register. 

Appointments 

Where possible, we ask you to try arrange medical/dental appointments out of school hours. If this cannot be possible then we ask you to bring evidence of appointment in. 

If your child requires a school dinner on the same day as an appointment, this must be ordered by 10am. 

                                         Term time holiday

Our Governors refuse all requests for term time holidays.  In order to enforce this decision, they have agreed to the issuing of Fixed Penalty Notices for parents taking their children out of school during term time for holidays.

Term time holiday forms can be collected from the main office.
