As it is customary to make a Christmas card and calendar in school, we decided to tie in our current topics too.
Victorian Cards
Completing our Victorian topic we studied Victorian Christmas cards. Did you know that Victorians sent the first cards? However the original cards were very weird and macabre i design. Dead frogs and birds, explorers being attacked by polar bears; not like your typical, jolly card today. So we copied a Victorian card of a child being cooked in a pie.
Greek Myths
For the backgrounds to our calendars, we represented Icarus flying up to the Sun.
