Walk for Our Planet

In June this year, some of our pupils took part in a Climate Walk which featured on Look North and other regional news.  56 schools across West Yorkshire took part in the climate walk which involved many participating schools walking across the district and at each stop point, a wooden baton was passed on for the next group of children to then take to the next school.

I am proud to say the Flanshaw pupils in Year 3/4 took part in this and did a fantastic job of sharing the message about the importance of walking to school whenever possible, to save our precious planet from pollution.  We carried a banner, signed a pledge to reach net zero by 2030 and marched proudly through our local streets to try and spread the message far and wide.

The children had a great, enriching time and felt the pride that comes with standing up for something they strongly believe in.
