Deputy Headteacher

 

Flanshaw Junior, Infant and Nursery School looking to appoint an exceptional leader to the post of Deputy Headteacher. This non-class based position plays a critical role in supporting the Headteacher, working alongside a team of committed and talented staff, to ensure that every pupil is successful in their learning. 

 

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dedicated and inspirational individual to work closely with the Headteacher and the governing body to improve the quality of teaching and learning and develop a high quality, exciting curriculum that meets the needs of all pupils. 

 

The successful candidate will play a vital role in shaping and delivering the next phase of improvement, as the school continues its journey to outstanding.  They will take on responsibility for a core subject area and lead on assessment.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive leader who puts the well-being of children at the heart of all their decisions.

 

We are looking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher who will:

 

-Be positive, energetic and committed to the ethos of the Flanshaw family.

-Be confident at leading the school in the absence of the Headteacher.

-Be an exemplary and inspirational classroom practitioner with a proven track record of raising standards.

-Show great ambition for the school, its pupils, its staff and the wider community.

-Build excellent relationships with our parents and support vulnerable families.

-Have experience of successfully leading school improvement at whole school level.

-Have experience of mentoring and/or coaching colleagues at different stages in their career.

-Be a strategic thinker with the ability to show resilience.

-Have an excellent understanding of safeguarding and take on the DSL role.

-Be a skilled communicator capable of developing effective professional relationships.

Premises Supervisor

 

The Head Teacher and Governors are seeking to appoint an experienced Premises Supervisor with a proven track record of ensuring high standards of site management, to join our exciting and hardworking Flanshaw family.

 

The successful candidates must:

 

  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
  • Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school
  • Supervise our JLT (Junior Leadership Team/eco warriors)
  • Ensure safe use by self and others of equipment and materials
  • Establish constructive relationships and communication with contractors and other agencies/professionals
  • To be responsible, in conjunction with the School Business Manager, for the administration and control of appropriate areas of the budget
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required including Governing Body meetings
  • Present a positive personal image, contributing to a welcoming school environment which supports equal opportunities for all
  • Promote and ensure the health and safety of pupils, staff & visitors (in accordance with appropriate health & safety legislation) at all times
