Monster Description
After reading the Picture Book, Bedtime for
Monsters by Ed Vere, the children drew their own imaginative monster and labelled it with adjectives, adverbs and similes. The children could choose whether the monster was going to be scary and fierce or cute and friendly. Developing some of the vocabulary with a thesaurus, the children then used these as the stimulus for their own character description.
