In Year 1, pupils have been learning about Flanshaw, Wakefield and the UK.

In their local area topic, the children discussed landmarks and features of the area and those which were near and far from where they live. They also matched features from a map key to their locations on a map of the area surrounding the school. 

In the summer term, pupils looked at the features of the seaside and whether they were human made or natural.
