Recycling

Every classroom has a paper recycling bin which is collected daily by the Eco-warrior team. These are in place to avoid unnecessary paper waste.  

Also, as part of TASC days, we often reuse packaging and household waste, which would have otherwise might have been thrown in a bin, to create different products and inventions to match the task e.g. create something which could tackle the issue of plastic pollution in the oceans. 

We have recently started recycling all our used felt tip pens and empty glue sticks. As a large school we use so many which creates a lot of plastic waste.  We have a large box where the Eco Warriors put all used pens and glue sticks each week and then Mr Shaw collects them for us and disposes of them in an appropriate plastic bin.
