Home Learning Expectations

  • Listen to your child read frequently and sign their reading record so that they can be changed on a Friday.
  • Ensure that they bring their reading book bag to school on a daily basis.
  • Support your child with their weekly Maths homework  (one section or two full pages per weekend). Please return completed homework to school by Thursday of the following week to allow the class teacher time to mark the work.
  • Allow time for your child to learn and practise their spellings (please refer to the 'Parent Information' page for a copy of the weekly spellings). The children will complete a weekly spelling test at the end of each week.
  • Support your child with the half-term 'Creative Project' (please refer to the 'Parent Information' page for a copy of the letter detailing each project).
  • Record any learning opportunities that take place on Tapestry, our on-line learning journal. This could include visits to the park, going on a minibeast hunt and exploring 2D and 3D shapes.
  • Log onto Purple Mash and explore a variety of interactive learning activities.
