The Remote Curriculum: What is Taught to Pupils at Home

All pupils working from home will receive a physical learning pack containing activities related to the core (Maths, English and Science) and foundation subjects (all other curriculum areas). This work will closely match learning that is being undertaken in school. Pupils will receive pack differentiated for their ability levels. These will be distributed in three week blocks and it is parents’ responsibility to collect from site on a specified day following social distancing measures. Pupils will also be encouraged to exchange their reading books when collecting new home learning packs.
Each pupil (from Years 1-6) can access online tasks through Purple Mash and Early Excellence (EYFS). The online learning tasks will be closely related to tasks undertaken in school and all tasks will be monitored closely by teaching staff. Pupils will have access to a wider range of learning activities; recorded sessions by teachers focussing on English and Maths, live zoom sessions in specific subject areas (French), quizzes, serial mash (online books).  The pupils will also access live zoom assemblies so that children can be reunited with their class mates and take part in focussed Maths and English sessions.

Pupils will be signposted to specific lessons from the Oak Academy to consolidate their learning in English and the Foundation subjects.

The White Rose maths website will be our primary tool for teaching maths concepts. Alongside Times Table Rockstars which supports children’s times table skills and mental maths.

Pupils in the EYFS will be able to access daily phonics sessions linked to our Read, Write, Inc. programme, plus complete activities from the free App ’50 things to do before you are 5.’
