Light and Shadow
In Science this half-term, we have learnt all about light; how light travels, how the eye works, how surfaces can absorb or reflect light and how shadows are formed and can change.
As part of this unit, we have had the opportunity to do a couple of different practical investigations. We used torches and mirrors to investigate how the direction of light changes when the light source is pointed at a reflective surface, like a mirror. Also, we planned and carried out a simple experiment to show how shadows are affected by the distance between the light source and the object. As a result of our investigation we found that the closer the light source is to an object, the larger the shadow that is cast. Have a go at home and see if you get the same outcome as us!
