School Attendance Policy

Good attendance is the responsibility of everyone in our school community; school staff, governors, pupils and parents.

An outstanding school has good attendance and this is an area that we are focussed on improving within our School Development Plan. School gives your child a wide range of opportunities and experiences in the form of academic lessons, educational trips and school clubs allowing them to develop their interests and achieve their full potential. Regular school attendance means that your child can make the most out of every aspect of their education.

DFE studies (March 2016) have shown that there is a direct link between a child's attendance at school and their attainment in both their KS2 SATs and in GCSEs later on.

We want all our pupils to fulfil their potential at Flanshaw School and go on to achieve the exams they deserve, opening the doors to a great career and success in life.
