This half-term in Art we are looking at French artist Henri Rousseau, who liked to paint animals in rainforest-like settings, which fits in nicely with our Geography work on rainforests.

We first painted a background with blues, oranges and yellows; before adding leaves by mixing blue and yellow to make green, we scratched in the veins of the leaves with the other end of the paint brush in the sgraffito style. We then added a tiger to the scene and made the image 3D with some more leaves made from tissue paper.
