During the week commencing 10th June 2024 all Year 1 children will be expected to undertake the Phonics Screening Check. This is a statutory assessment and will involve the children reading a set of 40 words consisting of 20 real words and 20 pseudo (or alien) words linked to the sounds covered in their Read Write Inc sessions.
