Sieving for Gold
"There be gold in them there fields!"
In science we are looking at mixing and separating substances. The children had a pot of earth which contained a gold nugget and some precious "beads."
In pairs the children used a range of sieves to separate their soil mixture.
They had to vary the sieve sizes to filter out the different size pieces - soil - beads - gold nugget.
