Welcome

Welcome to the Flanshaw family!

Education in mind, Community in heart, Success in life!

All children at Flanshaw should enjoy learning...

By building their confidence, feeding self-worth and lighting their ambition they will be well placed to take advantage of opportunities to become creative and effective learners, prepared for the world of work, active and enterprising citizens, secure in self-knowledge and ready for the changing world we live in.

A welcome from the Headteacher...

You may already be a member of our school community, a prospective parent or just interested in finding out more about us, so we are delighted to welcome you to our website and hope that you will find all that you require to give you information about our Flanshaw family.

We are proud to provide a happy, caring and safe environment for our children. We work very hard to ensure that your child's experience of school is a positive one, which encourages a love of life long-learning and self-discipline from the very start. This is reflected in our motto of: “Education in Mind,  Community in Heart, Success in Life." The Ofsted inspection in 2019 commended our curriculum stating that “The curriculum effectively supports pupils’ academic and personal development and promotes their love of learning. It is vibrantly rich, with topics and projects that hold pupils’ interests."

We pride ourselves on the positive behaviour of our pupils. The children at Flanshaw value their learning and they try hard in lessons. Our incredible staff team and governors have high aspirations and expectations for each child and endeavour to help every one of them to flourish and reach their full potential.

Children in our school come from different cultural backgrounds; they have different religions and speak different languages. We celebrate and value this diversity. We encourage the children to be proud of their own culture, religion and language and to show love, respect and tolerance for all, as part of our British values.

A positive partnership with parents is vital in achieving our aims. Home and school must work together and we need your support and co-operation. In return, we hope you will find the school welcoming, willing to listen and respond to your questions, concerns or suggestions.

We hope you enjoy exploring our school website. If you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us or arrange a visit. We look forward to showing you around and introducing you to our wonderful children and staff.

Thank you,

Mr Michael Woodburn
