    Firstly, we’d like to say a BIG thank you to all the children who have completed & returned work. We’ve loved looking at and reading them all and seeing most scores going up and up! And a big thank you to those resilient robins who took on feedback and returned work. A final really big thank you to Parents and siblings who have helped the children. We hope you’ve enjoyed the tasks and look forward to this last week’s outcomes – Show us what you’ve got!

    Virtual Sports Day (against all schools) Reminder:

    On Tuesday 7th July at 10am, we will be holding a virtual sports day, and even those at home can join in and help Flanshaw earn points towards the National Score board. Look in Purplemash 2dos for guidance on the activities and resources to prepare for the day. A score sheet you can fill in and return on the day will be handed out as a 2do on the day. For your scores to count – it must be returned on the same day.

    Look out for a link to a video which will include some dance entertainment, warm ups and visual demos of the tasks.

  • Goodbye Drop-in Sessions

    We would like to invite all of our children and their parent/carer along to a drop-in session to say goodbye to their current class teacher and to collect school reports and any certificates they may be due. Please note, children should be accompanied by a responsible adult, as this is an after school session and there are quite a lot of items to return for each child, including refunds for visits that were cancelled.

    The sessions will be held on different days for each class in order to maintain appropriate social distancing with other classes between 3:30-4:30pm each day - please see below for details of which day your child's session is on. Please also bring a carrier bag with you to take home the various items we have to return to you.

    During the sessions, we will:

    1) Collect any reading books or Wakefield Library books you may still have at home;

    2) Give out reports;

    3) Give out new class slips and class letters from their new teachers;

    4) Give out 100% attendance certificates and vouchers;

    5) Give out any presentation certificates and vouchers your child may have been awarded;

    6) Return PE kits for washing ready for next year;

    7) Give out any text books/ work from class;

    8) Give out Year 6 hoodies for Year 5 pupils moving into Year 6;

    9) Provide any refunds due (Year 5/6 residential).

  • Free School Meal Holiday Voucher Scheme

    FSM Holiday Vouchers

     

    Following the government’s recent announcement regarding free school meal vouchers through the school holidays, we have now received guidance and placed orders for vouchers for all pupils that are currently eligible for free school meals, including Year 6. The vouchers will be issued through the Edenred ordering system used throughout lockdown and can be redeemed in exactly the same way. You will receive vouchers to the value of £15 per week to cover the 7 week break from school, a total of £105 per child. Your vouchers should be issued on (or within a few days of) the following dates:

     

    If you have 1 child: 10/7/20

    For the 2nd child: 24/7/20

    For the 3rd child: 7/8/20

    For the 4th child: 14/8/20

     

    If you do not receive your first voucher by Weds 15/7, please contact school on 01924 290360. If you do not receive the others within a week of these dates, please email Mrs Bradley, School Business Manager: m.bradley@flanshawjin.co.uk Please bear in mind that response times may be longer than usual during the school holidays as staff will be taking leave from work during this time, but Mrs Bradley will respond and deal with your query at the earliest opportunity.
